SUMMARY: We collect the professional and account information you provide when you register for our courses, subscribe to The Statement newsletter, or use our Platform, which includes the websites (seidmanfinancial.com and learn.seidmanfinancial.com) and related applications. We use that information to operate the Platform, deliver our educational programs, process your enrollments, communicate with you, issue continuing professional education (CPE) credits, and conduct our own marketing. While we use internal algorithms to personalize your experience (including through third party providers), we do not use your data to train external public AI models. We honor privacy rights for residents of all U.S. states with applicable privacy laws, including Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signals. Please read this Policy carefully.
Our Core Commitment to Your Privacy: As a provider of professional financial education serving CPAs, CFOs, FP&A professionals, and corporate finance teams, we understand that data privacy is both a professional expectation and a legal obligation. Our privacy philosophy is straightforward: we use your data to deliver and improve our educational programs, communicate relevant opportunities, and enhance your learning experience. We do not, and will never, sell, license, or share your personal information or course activity data to train external, public Generative AI models.
1. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE
Seidman Financial (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Seidman Financial website at www.seidmanfinancial.com and the Seidman Financial On-Demand Learning platform at learn.seidmanfinancial.com (collectively, the “Platform”), providing professional financial education, corporate training, live virtual programs, self-study courses, and related services to finance professionals worldwide.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information about you when you visit, register for, or use the Platform, enroll in any of our programs or courses, subscribe to The Statement newsletter, or otherwise interact with our services. It applies to all users, including individual learners, corporate training participants, newsletter subscribers, and unauthenticated website visitors.
This Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Use at www.seidmanfinancial.com/terms-of-use. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described here. Defined terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in the Terms of Use.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Platform, and information received from third parties.
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Course Registration and Account Creation: Full name, email address, professional title, employer or company name, phone number (optional), geographic location, professional credentials (e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA), and employment history and other relevant facts when you create an account on learn.seidmanfinancial.com or register for a live program.
- Newsletter Subscription: Email address and name when you subscribe to The Statement newsletter or other Seidman Financial email communications.
- Corporate Training Engagements: Company name, contact person details, participant rosters, billing information, and program customization requirements provided by organizations that engage Seidman Financial for corporate training.
- Course Participation Data: Quiz responses, exercise submissions, course completion records, CPE credit tracking information, attendance records for live sessions, and feedback or evaluation forms.
- Communications: Messages, emails, contact form submissions, survey responses, feedback, and other communications you send to the Company.
- Payment Information: If you purchase a course, program, or membership, payment and billing information is collected by our third-party payment processors. When you purchase self-study courses, public courses, or other services through our website, your transaction is processed by secure, third-party payment gateways (e.g., Stripe). Seidman Financial does not directly collect, process, or store your full credit card numbers or sensitive banking details on our servers. The collection and processing of your payment data are governed entirely by the privacy policies and security standards of those respective third-party payment providers.
- Event and Program Participation: Registration details and attendance records for live virtual programs, workshops, mastermind sessions, and other Seidman Financial-hosted events conducted via Zoom or similar platforms.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Log and Device Data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, referring URLs, pages viewed, links clicked, searches performed, and session duration.
- Usage and Interaction Data: Courses you view, enroll in, or complete; content you access, download, or engage with; videos you watch; progress through self-study modules; and other Platform interactions.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: See Section 7 for full details on cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies.
- Inferred Location: General geographic location derived from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates without express consent.
2.3 Information Received from Third Parties
- Third-Party Course Platforms: If you enroll in a Seidman Financial course through Maven or another third-party platform, we may receive your registration information and course activity data consistent with that platform’s privacy practices.
- Live Programs: When you participate in live programs via Zoom, Teams, or other networking software, they may provide us with attendance records, session metadata, and related information.
- Corporate Training Clients: Your employer or organization may provide your name, email, and professional details when enrolling you in a corporate training program.
- Public Sources: We may review publicly available professional information, including LinkedIn profiles, to understand the professional backgrounds of our learners and to improve our program offerings.
2.4 CPE Credit and Professional Certification Data
As a NASBA-registered sponsor of continuing professional education, we collect and retain information necessary to issue, verify, and report CPE credits. This includes your name, credential identifiers, program attendance records, assessment results, and credit hours earned. This data may be shared with NASBA, state boards of accountancy, or other credentialing bodies as required for CPE compliance. If you opt out or request deletion of your account, we will not be able to verify your continuing professional education credits.
2.5 Payment and Financial Information
If you purchase a course, program membership, or other service, your payment card information is collected and processed directly by our third-party, PCI-compliant payment processors (e.g., Stripe). We do not collect, store, or maintain your full credit card numbers or bank account details on our own servers. We only receive secure tokens and metadata regarding your payment status to manage your access and enrollment.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use information we collect for the specific purposes below. We do not use your personal information for any purpose that is incompatible with the purposes described in this Policy without your prior consent.
3.1 Delivering Educational Programs and Services
- Creating and managing your learner account on learn.seidmanfinancial.com;
- Processing course enrollments, program registrations, and membership subscriptions;
- Delivering live virtual programs, self-study courses, and corporate training sessions;
- Tracking your course progress, assessment results, and program completion;
- Issuing CPE certificates and reporting credit hours to credentialing bodies;
- Providing access to downloadable resources, templates, and course materials;
- Providing customer support and responding to inquiries.
3.2 Communications
- Sending transactional and account-related communications including registration confirmations, enrollment receipts, course access instructions, and security notices;
- Delivering The Statement newsletter and program update emails;
- Sending reminders for upcoming live sessions, program deadlines, and new course launches;
- Communicating about Platform features, new programs, and learning opportunities.
3.3 Marketing and Promotional Use
We use your information for Seidman Financial’s own marketing activities. This includes:
- Email marketing campaigns and digital advertising promoting Seidman Financial programs and services;
- Featuring aggregated or anonymized learner data in materials describing Seidman Financial’s reach and impact (e.g., number of professionals trained, industries served);
- With your consent, referencing your name, professional title, and testimonials in Seidman Financial’s promotional materials;
- Conducting email outreach to prospective learners and professional contacts.
We do not share or sell your personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing. See Section 5.
3.4 Analytics and Platform Improvement
- Analyzing usage patterns to improve Platform features, course content, and the learning experience;
- Generating internal analytics on enrollment trends, course completion rates, and content engagement;
- Conducting surveys, research, and user testing to improve our programs;
- Monitoring for security threats, fraud, and Terms of Use violations.
3.5 Legal and Compliance
- Complying with applicable laws, regulations, legal process, and governmental requests;
- Enforcing the Terms of Use, this Policy, and other applicable policies;
- Protecting the rights, property, and safety of Seidman Financial, learners, and others;
- Responding to legal claims, disputes, or regulatory inquiries;
- Fulfilling CPE reporting obligations to NASBA and state boards of accountancy.
3.6 Lawful Basis for Processing
The table below identifies the lawful basis on which Seidman Financial relies for each major processing activity. Where “legitimate interests” is the stated basis, Seidman Financial has determined that its interest is not overridden by your rights and interests. You may request information about any specific legitimate interests assessment by contacting us at privacy@seidmanfinancial.com.

4. INFERRED AND DERIVED DATA
In addition to the information you provide directly or that we collect automatically, Seidman Financial and our service providers may generate inferences and derived insights from your data. These inferences help us improve Platform features, personalize your learning experience, and support Seidman Financial’s marketing. Examples include:
- Professional level and specialization: Inferred from your job title, credentials, and enrollment history (e.g., identifying you as an emerging FP&A analyst vs. a seasoned CFO or fractional finance executive).
- Industry focus: Inferred from your profile information, course selections, and the types of programs you view or enroll in.
- Engagement level: Derived from your frequency of login, course progress, content interactions, live session attendance, and newsletter engagement, used to determine communication frequency and re-engagement outreach.
- Geographic market: Inferred from IP address and profile information to personalize program recommendations and relevant learning opportunities.
- Learning pathway and skill development: Derived from course completion patterns, assessment performance, and content engagement to recommend relevant programs and resources.
Inferences are used only for purposes consistent with this Policy and the Terms of Use. We do not use inferences to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you without providing an opportunity to contest the outcome. If you are a resident of Minnesota or another state that provides a right to contest automated decision-making, see Section 11.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or license your personal information to third parties for their independent commercial use. We share your information only as described below.
5.1 With Corporate Training Clients
If your employer or organization has enrolled you in a corporate training program, we may share your attendance records, course completion status, assessment results, and CPE credit information with your sponsoring organization to the extent necessary to fulfill our training agreement with them.
5.2 With Service Providers
We share information with service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, each bound by data processing agreements. Current categories:
- Learning Management System (LMS): Our on-demand learning platform at learn.seidmanfinancial.com hosts course content, manages enrollments, and tracks learner progress.
- Videoconferencing: Zoom — live virtual programs, workshops, and mastermind sessions.
- Email Delivery: Third-party email service providers for transactional emails, The Statement newsletter, and marketing communications.
- Payment Processing: Third-party processors (e.g., Stripe) for course purchases and program enrollments.
- Analytics: Tools used to analyze Platform usage in aggregated or pseudonymized form, which may include Google Analytics.
- Advertising Platforms: To the extent Seidman Financial runs targeted digital advertising, we may share hashed or pseudonymized audience data with platforms such as LinkedIn, Google, or Meta. This does not constitute a “sale” of personal data.
- Third-Party Course Platforms: Maven and similar platforms through which Seidman Financial courses may be offered.
- Hosting and Infrastructure: Cloud hosting providers that store and process Platform data.
5.3 With Credentialing Bodies
We share CPE-related data (name, credential identifiers, credit hours, program details) with NASBA, state boards of accountancy, and other professional credentialing organizations as required for CPE compliance and reporting.
5.4 For Legal and Safety Purposes
- Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request;
- Enforce the Terms of Use or this Policy, including investigating potential violations;
- Detect, prevent, or address fraud, security vulnerabilities, or technical issues;
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Seidman Financial, learners, or others.
5.5 Business Transfers
In connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred. We will provide notice and, where required, seek consent before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5.6 Aggregated, Anonymized, and De-Identified Data
We may analyze platform data to generate industry insights, program effectiveness benchmarks, and educational research. To do this, we aggregate and strictly de-identify your information so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify you. Once fully anonymized, this data is no longer considered personal information under applicable law. We reserve the right to freely use, share, publish, and monetize this anonymized data for any business purpose, including to demonstrate Seidman Financial’s impact and reach. We publicly commit to maintaining and using the information in a de-identified form and will not attempt to re-identify the information.
6. Data We Do Not Sell, and Our Commitment on AI
6.1 No Sale of Personal Information
Seidman Financial does not sell your personal data for monetary compensation. However, under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) and similar state laws, our use of third-party analytics and advertising cookies (such as those from Meta, LinkedIn, and Google) may be classified as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share this data solely to improve our services and deliver relevant professional educational content to you. You maintain the right to opt out of this sharing at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences or using global opt-out signals like the Global Privacy Control (GPC).
6.2 Generative AI Commitment
WE DO NOT SELL, SHARE, OR LICENSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION, COURSE ACTIVITY DATA, OR LEARNING RECORDS TO ANY THIRD PARTY TO TRAIN EXTERNAL GENERATIVE AI MODELS (e.g., public Large Language Models). Any AI-powered tools utilized within the Platform operate within controlled environments solely for the benefit of our learners (e.g., content recommendations, search relevance). Such use does not involve training on your identifiable personal information.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
7.1 Cookies We Use
- Strictly Necessary Cookies: Required for Platform functionality (session authentication, security tokens, course access). Cannot be disabled without impairing Platform function.
- Functional Cookies: Remember your preferences and settings (language, login state, display preferences, course progress bookmarks).
- Analytics Cookies: Collect usage data to help us understand Platform performance and optimize features. May include Google Analytics.
- Marketing and Advertising Cookies: Track interactions with the Platform and, where applicable, across the web to support Seidman Financial’s own marketing campaigns and measure their effectiveness.
Cookies are not required for basic access to seidmanfinancial.com. If your browser is configured not to accept cookies, you will still be able to access the website and its content, though certain features of learn.seidmanfinancial.com may require cookies for authentication.
7.2 Off-Platform Tracking
Seidman Financial may use tracking technologies that operate outside the Platform in connection with our own marketing activities. These may include:
- LinkedIn Insight Tag: A pixel placed by LinkedIn that allows Seidman Financial to measure the effectiveness of LinkedIn advertising campaigns and build audiences of Platform visitors for our LinkedIn advertising. LinkedIn’s use of this data is governed by LinkedIn’s privacy policy.
- Google Ads / Analytics Tag: Used to measure the effectiveness of Seidman Financial’s Google advertising and to analyze traffic sources.
- Meta Pixel: If Seidman Financial runs advertising on Meta platforms, a pixel may track visits to the Platform for campaign measurement and audience building.
Off-platform tracking is used solely for Seidman Financial’s own marketing purposes. We do not permit third-party advertising networks to use your data collected through the Platform for their own purposes unrelated to our advertising.
7.3 Your Cookie Choices
We provide a dynamic cookie consent manager to give you control over your data. You can adjust, accept, or deny non-essential tracking cookies at any time by clicking the “Manage Consent” or “Cookie Settings” link located in the footer of our website.
7.4 Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Universal Opt-Out Signals
Seidman Financial honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals and other recognized universal opt-out preference signals as required by applicable state law. When your browser sends a GPC signal to the Platform, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information and to opt out of cross-context behavioral advertising, to the extent required by the law of your state.
The following states currently require businesses to honor GPC or equivalent universal opt-out signals: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, and Texas. Seidman Financial honors GPC signals from users in all of these states and, as a matter of policy, from all users regardless of state.
7.5 Scheduling and CRM Partners
We utilize third-party scheduling and customer relationship management (CRM) tools (such as Calendly) to facilitate consultation bookings and manage client communications. When you book a consultation, the information you provide—including your name, email, phone number, and the context of your meeting—is processed by these platforms on our behalf to schedule and prepare for your session.
8. Marketing Communications and Opt-Out
By registering for a course, subscribing to The Statement, or otherwise providing your email address, you consent to receive communications from Seidman Financial including:
- Transactional communications: enrollment confirmations, course access instructions, CPE certificates, security alerts, and service notices. These cannot be opted out of.
- Educational communications: upcoming program announcements, new course launches, live session reminders, and learning resources.
- Marketing communications: The Statement newsletter, promotional emails about Seidman Financial services, and professional resources.
All commercial email communications comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. To opt out of non-essential marketing and educational communications:
- Click the “Unsubscribe” link in any marketing email;
- Email privacy@seidmanfinancial.com with your opt-out request.
Opt-out requests are processed within ten (10) business days. If you send a GPC signal or submit a universal opt-out request, we will also opt you out of any sale or sharing of your personal data for targeted advertising purposes as required by applicable law.
9. Sensitive Personal Information
Seidman Financial does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information as part of its standard registration or enrollment process. Sensitive personal information includes, under various state laws: precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, mental or physical health data, biometric data, genetic data, sexual orientation or gender identity, immigration status, and financial account details (beyond what is necessary for payment processing).
If you choose to voluntarily share any sensitive information in communications with us, you do so at your own discretion. Seidman Financial will handle any such information with heightened care and will not use it for marketing or advertising purposes. Under Maryland’s MODPA and similar laws, Seidman Financial does not collect, process, or share sensitive personal information beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the service you request.
10. Data Portability
You have the right to receive a copy of the personal information Seidman Financial holds about you in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. To request a data export:
- Submit a written request to privacy@seidmanfinancial.com with “Data Export Request” in the subject line, including your full name and account email address.
- Seidman Financial will compile and deliver a downloadable archive of your personal information within forty-five (45) calendar days of your verified request.
Your data archive will include: your account and profile information, course enrollment records, CPE credit history, and a summary of communications received from Seidman Financial.
Your data archive will not include: other learners’ data, internal analytics derived from your data, proprietary course content, or information that Seidman Financial is legally obligated to retain and not disclose.
11. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights regarding your personal information. These rights apply regardless of your state of residence, and Seidman Financial will honor them to the fullest extent required by the most protective applicable law.
11.1 Right to Know / Access
You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information Seidman Financial has collected about you, the sources of that information, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of third parties with whom it has been shared.
11.2 Right to Correction
You may request correction of inaccurate personal information in your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
11.3 Right to Deletion
You may request deletion of your personal information. We will fulfill deletion requests to the extent required by applicable law. Exceptions include information we must retain for CPE compliance and reporting, legal obligations, fraud prevention, transaction records, or to enforce existing agreements.
11.4 Right to Data Portability
You may request a copy of your personal information in a structured, portable format. See Section 10 for the process.
11.5 Right to Opt Out of Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising
Seidman Financial does not sell personal information. To the extent our advertising practices constitute “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under applicable law, you may opt out by (a) adjusting cookie preferences through our cookie consent tool, (b) submitting a GPC signal through your browser, or (c) contacting us at privacy@seidmanfinancial.com.
11.6 Right to Opt Out of Profiling for Significant Decisions
Seidman Financial does not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. If Seidman Financial introduces such automated decision-making in the future, we will provide a right to opt out and, where required by law (e.g., Minnesota), a right to contest the outcome and receive a human review.
11.7 Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Information
To the extent Seidman Financial processes sensitive personal information, you may request that we limit its use to what is strictly necessary to provide the service. Contact us at privacy@seidmanfinancial.com to make such a request.
11.8 Right to Non-Discrimination
Seidman Financial will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. We will not deny access to courses, provide a different level of service, or penalize you in any way for exercising your rights under this Policy or applicable law.
11.9 Right to Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on your consent (e.g., marketing emails, testimonial use), you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. See Section 7 for opt-out instructions.
11.10 How to Submit a Privacy Rights Request
To exercise any of the rights above, submit a written request to privacy@seidmanfinancial.com with “Privacy Rights Request” in the subject line. Include your full name, account email address, state of residence, and a description of the right you are exercising. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30–45 days, with a one-time extension available for complex requests). You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf with written proof of authorization.

- California (CCPA/CPRA): California residents may submit requests through the methods described in Section 11.10 or by submitting a GPC signal. Seidman Financial does not engage in profiling for automated decision-making with significant effects. The California Attorney General’s office and California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) have jurisdiction over our data practices with respect to California residents.
- Maryland (MODPA): Seidman Financial applies data minimization principles as required—collecting only data necessary for the purposes disclosed in this Policy. Seidman Financial does not sell sensitive data.

13. Data Retention
13.1 Retention Periods
- Account and Profile Data: Retained for the duration of your account and up to three (3) years after account closure or last activity, to allow reactivation, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
- Course Enrollment and Completion Records: Retained for a minimum of five (5) years to support CPE credit verification and audit requirements by NASBA and state boards of accountancy.
- Transaction Records: Retained for up to seven (7) years as required by tax and accounting law.
- Log and Technical Data: Typically twelve (12) months, unless required longer for security or legal purposes.
- Newsletter and Marketing Data: Retained for up to three (3) years after your last interaction with The Statement or other Seidman Financial communications.
- Corporate Training Records: Retained in accordance with the terms of our corporate training agreement and applicable CPE requirements.
You may request deletion or anonymization of your personal information at any time, subject to the exceptions above. See Section 11.3.
13.2 Account Deletion
If you choose to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal profile data within a reasonable timeframe. However, please note that CPE credit records and course completion certificates may be retained as required by NASBA regulations and state board requirements, even after account deletion, to ensure the integrity of continuing education records.
14. Data Security
Seidman Financial implements commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information, including access controls, SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit, and regular security assessments. No internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. In the event of a data breach triggering notification obligations under applicable law, Seidman Financial will notify affected individuals and relevant authorities within the timeframes required by applicable state breach notification laws. Most state breach notification laws require notice within 30–72 hours of discovery, depending on the state and nature of the breach.
15. Children's Privacy
The Platform and all Seidman Financial programs are intended exclusively for professionals eighteen (18) years of age or older. Seidman Financial does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware of such collection, we will promptly delete the information. 16. Third-Party Platforms and Integrations
Seidman Financial courses and programs may be offered through or integrated with third-party platforms, including but not limited to Zoom (live sessions), Maven (course delivery), and third-party payment processors. Your use of these platforms is subject to their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies independently. Seidman Financial is not responsible for the data practices of third-party platforms.
When you participate in a live program via Zoom, Zoom’s privacy policy governs Zoom’s collection and use of your data during the session. Seidman Financial receives only attendance records and session metadata from Zoom for our own records.
17. International Users
The Platform is operated from the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., including from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), Switzerland, or Canada, your personal information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. The data protection laws in the U.S. may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer. Where required by applicable law, we rely on recognized cross-border transfer mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or derogations for specific situations. If you are a resident of the EEA or UK, you possess specific supplemental rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR, including the right to object to processing, restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
For users accessing our platform from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Seidman Financial acts as the “Data Controller” of your personal information. Our principal place of business is located at [Insert Physical Address].
